Release Notes – March 2026
This release brings Live Transcoding reliability improvements across V4 and V5, platform-wide alert enhancements, and the rollout of Ad Insertion and hourly transcoding billing to V5.

Feature: Livestream Transcode Auto Stop
- A new Auto Stop feature has been added to Live Transcoding to automatically stop transcoding sessions when a stream goes offline.
- Prevents unintended over-billing by ensuring transcoding does not continue running beyond the active stream session.
- Can also be used to reserve transcoding cores during idle periods when not actively streaming.
Feature: Live Transcoding – Try Activate
- Users can now test whether their configured transcoding cores are available before going live.
- Validates capacity ahead of the stream, reducing the risk of activation failures during critical broadcast moments.
Feature: Livestream Ad Insertion / SSAI (SCTE-35) — Now on V5
Billing: Live Transcoding – Hourly Billing Now Across V4 & V5
- Hourly billing for Live Transcoding, introduced in V4 in February, is now applied consistently across both V4 and V5.
- Transcoding remains activated at the stream level, with Auto Stop validations in place to prevent runaway billing.
Alerts: Expanded Email Notification Coverage
- Improved email notifications now cover the following across the platform:
- Stream Monitoring – stream status and health check alerts
- Live Transcoding – session and billing-related notifications
- Invoicing – payment and invoice update alerts
- Bandwidth Overage Protection – overage threshold warnings
- Bandwidth Auto Recharge – recharge confirmation and failure alerts
- Video Player Usage – usage threshold notifications
